July 7 – Children between 1 month and 16 years and affected from a complex congenital heart disease: 13 Salvadoran children underwent cardiac surgery operated by a team of specialists and nurses from the Bambin Gesù hospital in Rome. The operations are part of the cooperation project with the Hospital de niños Benjamin Bloom in El Salvador. Between June 21 and June 30, the young patients were operated on by Italian doctors, who were accompanied by the local health staff, duly trained to operate in autonomy in similar future cases.
