July 10 – Ernesto Tavoletti of the University of Macerata, Professor of International Marketing, was awarded the “Best Istructor” prize at the X-Culture Award among 102 teachers from 93 universities around the world: his students excelled in the international commercial competition. The X-Culture project is a learning exercise conducted on an international scale and coordinated by the University of North Carolina, which provides students with the opportunity to experience real international trade. The last edition saw the participation of over 3.000 people, among students and others, from 93 universities in 40 countries. According to the rules of the competition, International Business students and of related courses form international teams made up of seven students of different nationalities. The teams, in the course of a semester, must develop a business plan related to foreign trade for a company of their choice. The teams, simulating the activities of international managers who work together without leaving their own country, had to work and communicate at a distance, taking into account time zones and cultural diversity.
