July 15 – Made in Italy isn’t only fashion, food and culture but also design. In honor of the Italian Presidency in Brussels, FederlegnoArredo and ADI (Association for Industrial Design) continue on their path to promote the leading Italian design companies at the headquarters of the European Union Council (at the Justus Lipsius Palace in Brussels) with a number of initiatives that combine art and design. The lobby of the Council hosts the suspended installation “Terzo Paradiso” by Michelangelo Pistoletto, while the entry hall on the ground floor is displaying the 20 winning products of the Premio Compasso d’Oro Adi. On the reception floor, FederlegnoArredo furnishes the boardrooms. On the same floor, six products from Compasso d’Oro ADI’s Historical Collection (one per decade) tell the story of the company’s historical production and its award to promote Italian design. “To be in this heart of Europe’s political activity with the very best of our design is an honor – said the President of FederlegnoArredo, Roberto Snaidero – We represent a source of excellence for Italy and we are confident that bringing the best of Italian creativity in Brussels is a way to add value to this Italian Presidency.” “Italian design – continued Luciano Galimberti, chairman for ADI – is a strategic asset that can cross and connect production, education, business, and tourism. We represent art and design, which characterizes the way we create, live and work.”
