Brisbane – The Concert for Violin and Orchestra in F minor by Giovanni Allevi, “La danza della Strega,”from the symphonic album “Sunrise,” will be the soundtrack to the contemporary ballet “The Red Shoes” by the Expressions Dance Company (EDC). The ballet will debut in Australia for its world premiere this Friday at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane. The show is inspired by the fairy tale “The Red Shoes” by Hans Christian Andersen and the 1948film version. “I found the violin concerto by Giovanni Allevi very addictive and I really wanted to integrate it into the project ‘The Red Shoes’ – said the artistic director and choreographer of the company, Natalie Weir -. It’s an honor for our orchestra to perform live a piece so beautifully written.”(9Colonne)
