(July 18, 2014) The headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne have been included for the first time in the list of city buildings of great historical, architectural, and engineering value. On 26 and 27 July, on the occasion of Open House Melbourne, the two days of open doors of historic city sites, the public can also visit Elm Tree House, the nineteenth-century building where the IIC is located, in the district of South Yarra . In those days you can visit the hall, the library, classrooms, exhibition space, the garden and see the exhibition “Australia and Italy: Italy through Australian eyes – pictures of Italy and Australia through Italian eyes – images of Australia” hosted at the headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute until August 30. Simulations of Italian language lessons will be organized for the occasion.
