July 23 – The National Museum of Valjevo, Serbia, will remain open late one last time for the archaeological film festival. The initiative saw the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade contributed with five Italian documentaries, with Serbian subtitles, dedicated to Italy’s archaeological heritage. After Val di Fiemme, Pompeii, Trieste and Umbria, tonight at 9pm, it will be the turn of “Lazio, landscape and history.” In the documentary, director Folco Quilici becomes a pilgrim, retracing the three major paths that for a thousand years travelers heading to Rome have crossed: the Via Francigena for those coming from the north, the Way of St. Francis for those in the east, the Sacred Valley of the Reatino, and the path of Peter and Paul in the south, which follows Via Appia. The documentary is a journey through stunning sceneries, artistic masterpieces and spiritual places.
