July 30 – The Sant’Anna of Pisa is playing an increasingly important role in promoting democratic paths, giving priority to dialogue and civil society, and “maintaining” peace in critical areas. Sant’Anna’s latest initiative is the creation of a Master’s degree to train those who will provide electoral assistance to countries in which democracy is a recent conquest. The Master’s degree in Electoral Policy and Administration was launched by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in conjunction with “International Idea”, an organization whose primary task is to provide electoral assistance. Registration are open and will remain so until all 28 students are enrolled. The selected students will follow classes taught entirely in English. 50 percent of available seats will be reserved for female candidates. Scholarships will be made available over the course of the 1-year degree, from March 2015 to the spring of 2016.
