Aug. 1 – Cooperate to give art a voice, in the name of multiplicity, to build a story with many voices all from the large Adriatic network. Tirana prepares to host “Coexistence”. The Pyramid, one of the iconic buildings of Hoxha’s dictatorship and, still today, in the middle of a complex recovery process, will host from today – to the end of August 24 – the first of the five phases of the contemporary art exhibition “Art in Port – Coexistence for a new Adriatic koine.” The project brings together until March 2015 artists from Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, and Italy (Veneto and Puglia). The exhibition is part of the project “arTvision. A live art channel” funded by the European IPA Adriatic CBC Programme 2007/2013, with the intent to connect and mobilize the creative energy of young artists. This is a pilot project led by the Puglia Region with technical support of its regional Film Commission, and it involves multiple agencies: Foundation Pino Pascali Museum of Contemporary Art; Veneto Region – Cultural and Entertainment Directorate; Academy of Fine Arts in Venice; Ministry of Culture of Montenegro; Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje – Montenegro; Ministry of Culture of Albania; University of the Arts of Tirana – Albania; the Coast-Mountain County of Croatia; and Kanal RI – Croatia.
