(Aug. 11) The CIA (Italian Farmers Confederation) has renewed its collaboration with the Fidal (Italian Athletics Federation9 for the European Athletics Championships to be held in Zurich from tomorrow until August 17. The agreement aims to promote and enhance the link between food, environment and sustainable agriculture with the performance of Italian athletes. Many joint initiatives will take place at the “Casa Italia Atletica”, Fidal’s operational based at Zunfthaus zur Saffran. In particular, Turismo Verde will host tomorrow, starting at 8pm, a meeting on “Environmental Tourism: sporting farms, cottages, and new green environmental paths for tourism, food and wine.” The organization will also promote the project “Sports Farms” and its “smart paths” carried out with Fidal Servizi. The project provides for real training tracks in nature, where athletes or mere enthusiasts can keep in shape benefiting away from the stress of city life. The farms also offer snack menus, seasonal fruit and organic foods, all local and certified. During the Championships, the CIA will also bring the Spesa in Campagna confederal association for the promotion and development of direct sales.
