Brussels – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, welcomed the decision of the High Representative for Foreign Policy, Catherine Ashton, to convene on Friday, August 15, the Council of Foreign Affairs to discuss the crisis in Iraq, Gaza and Libya. “It is good that the EU, as Italy and then France have already asked, has decided to tackle the dramatic crises in Iraq, Gaza and Libya with a joint effort of its 28 members,” said the minister. “The Summit should lead to both a statement of shared principles in all three scenarios of crisis, and a common decision, strong and coordinated,” she added. “This decision is the reason why we insisted on convening immediately the Council.” (9Colonne)
