Carmel – The Ferrari 375 MM Scaglietti Coupe 1954 won the “Best of Show” award of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that took place on the golf course of Carmel, California. Director Roberto Rossellini first bought the car for four million lire in August 1954, even though it was originally conceived as a competition car with red paint and a barchetta bodywork. It’s the 12th specimen of the fifteen 375 MM ever built, but Rossellini drove it on the road and reached Sweden in it with Ingrid Bergman. Between 1995 and 1998, the car was restored to its original splendor, which led to it wining the contest at Pebble Beach today. (9Colonne)
