Kourou – Today Galileo, the satellite navigation program launched by the Italian Space Agency and the EU, will launch two satellites into space, for a total of six satellites in orbit. The launch will take place at the European Cosmodrome in Kourou, French Guyana. This launch marks another milestone for Galileo and represents a further step towards a real European satellite navigation system, as the satellites are the first of a series belonging entirely to the EU. With the imminent arrival of a new series of satellites of this type, Galileo’s signal availability and coverage will gradually improve, eventually becoming fully operational. (9Colonne)
