Lisbon – The national women’s take the top spot on the podium, while France takes home the silver medal and Portugal the bronze one. The excellent results were a joint effort of the whole team: the four Italians all ranked in the top10 athletes, with Silvina Turrini performing better than the rest, receiving a bronze medal. The team fought for this result, for Italy and most of all for their coach, Gianpiero Barbetta, who passed away prematurely a few months ago. (9Colonne)
