Khartoum – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomed yesterday a $950,000 donation from the Italian government. The contribution will help reach 20.000 vulnerable people in the eastern states of Red Sea and Kassala, providing nutritious hot meals for 1,970 students in Kassala and for 7,347 in Red Sea. Additionally, 1,765 students will receive food rations to take home. The Italian Government’s contribution also allowed the WFP to reach 10,885 vulnerable people with its “food-for-work” program: 6,835 in Red Sea and 4,050 in Kassala. (9Colonne)
