Sept. 5 – Calabria represented Italy at the Seafood Expo Asia, which just came to an end in Hong Kong. The Italian region present at the event had the chance to showcase its range of fish offer. All local companies at the fair could enter into negotiations with foreign buyers, opening up new chances in the particularly competitive, diverse and attentive Asian market. “Events such as Seafood Expo Asia – said the Italian consul general in Hong Kong, Antonello De Riu – need for us to work as a system, since the potential for Italian companies participating in this event, in this city, can be great.” Calabria’s Coastal Action Groups were present, working as a single network, to better understand the basic innovations in the fisheries sector in foreign markets so as to replicate them in Calabria.
