Tomsk – Professor Sergio Zerbini, lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Trento, has been awarded the title of “Honorary Professor” by the Academic Council of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, a prestigious Russian university founded in 1902 in Siberia by the Czar Nicholas II. Trento’s scientific collaborations with TSTB began more than twenty years ago, when Zerbini’s research group, within the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, began collaborating with prof. Sergei Odintsov of TSTB in 1992. The main research topics included theoretical physics problems of fundamental interactions related to cosmology, in particular the violent initial acceleration of our universe moments after the Big Bang, and the issue of our universe’s current acceleration.
