Vienna – The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, spoke today in Vienna, on behalf of the European Union, at the 58th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency. “We urge States that have not yet acceded to the Non-Proliferation Treaty to do so,” said the Secretary, expressing “the EU’s concern for the serious threats to the non-proliferation regime.” Regarding nuclear negotiations with Iran, Della Vedova stressed “the importance and urgency of Iran’s full cooperation with the IAEA,” a theme that he also recalled in a subsequent meeting with the IAEA Director General, Ambassador Yukiya Amano.
