Sept. 24 – Within the activities of the Lectura Dantis Seminar organized by the Department of Literature and Philosophy of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, the Italian Cultural Center is organizing for tonight (at 6.30pm) a screening of “Montagna Infinita.” The film is a cinematic project that associates evocative images to a selection of verses from Dante’s Purgatory. The narrating voice is Lamberto Lambertini, accompanied by the original melodies of Salvio Riccardi. Maria Esther Badín, professor of the Lectura Dantis Seminar and Dean of the Instituto Superior de la Asociación Dante Alighieri de Buenos Aires, has confirmed her participation in the event. The “Traveling with Dante” project, sponsored by the Società Dante Alighieri, began in 2009 with the film “Maratona Infernale,” it was later expanded with “Montagna Infinita”. The brainchild of director Lambertini and Paolo Peluffo, vice president of the Società Dante Alighieri, the project is very ambitious: 100 12-minute long short films (one for each canto of the Divine Comedy) shot in unusual or unknown places in Italy, as well as its most famous and excellent locations.
