Bucarest – The Astaldi Group has been awarded a contract in Romania worth 20 million euros (Astaldi holding a 50% stake) that involves the design and construction of works to complete Lot 2 of the Nădlac-Arad Motorway, adjacent to Lot 1 currently being carried out by Astaldi. The works are to be completed in eight months, starting before the end of the year. Commissioned by Romania’s National Company of Motorways and National Roads, the works will be financed 85% by European Cohesion Funds (Pos-T) and the remaining 15% by the local government. Astaldi will work in a joint venture with the German Company Max Bögl (holding a 50% stake), with which it has already built the Lia Manoliu National Stadium in Bucharest and other motorway lots.
