Abidjan – A group of Italian engineers grouped in the “EPC Consortium” donated to the University of Nagui-Abrogoua in Abidjan, in Ivory Coast, the first example of a small self-sufficient and – most importantly – easy to transport solar power plant. It uses a system initially designed to feed satellites in orbit and provide power for radio equipment. Solar Station K10 contains all the tools – even a fully charged battery – needed to run the plant itself, which only needs to be positioned and then it opens as a “robot transformer.” From the station, cables reach the destination facilities: hospital wards, homes and schools. Solar Station K10 is “box” of solar energy; a plant of 7.5mx2m to, easy to manage, move and operate. (9Colonne)
