Nov. 12 – The G20 Head of States will head to Brisbane, on Nov. 15-16, and the city is reinventing itself as the capital of social innovation for the occasion. The G20 Innovation Hub is a unique event for parties engaged in the development of Social Innovation and Impact Investing (investments that generate economic returns, as well as a measurable and beneficial social or environmental impact). Actors will come together to present the most significant innovations in social business and best practices. The event, whose theme is “Beyond business as usual,” includes a debate on how social, financial and business innovation can become a tool to create new value in terms of social and economic impact, transforming good practices into substantial government action. Italy participates in the event with ItaliaCamp. The mission, created in partnership with the Cariplo Foundation, aims to help build a network that actively responds to specific social innovation needs in Italy. The delegation is composed of Fabrizio Sammarco (founder and CEO of ItaliaCamp) and Francesco Pozzobon (Head Impact investing ItaliaCamp), who will interact with other international operators in the various sessions to analyze the emergence of new markets and civic value. “We are honored to represent our country in this authoritative way. We will work to support the growth of a new ‘economy of solutions,’ a hub that will help strengthen the role and reputation of the G20 member states as global leaders in a world driven by new opportunities, investment and innovation impact,” said Sammarco in his opening remarks.
