Nov. 17 – Eni and Sonangol joined forces for the development of Angolan gas: the president of the national oil company of Angola, Francisco de Lemos Maria, and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi signed today a strategic agreement on future collaborations and joint projects in the oil and gas industry. Under the agreement, Eni and Sonangol will form a joint team that will investigate the potential of non-associated gas in the lower Congo Basin, a very promising area in terms of offshore hydrocarbons production. The study, conducted jointly by Eni and Sonangol, will analyze the available options for the international market and at the national level, where the valorization of gas will have a key role in the livelihood of the local economy. The team will benefit from Eni’s know-how and strong experience in the development of gas resources. In addition, the company will engage in the development of mid-downstream projects in Angola. (Red)
