Nov. 25 – La Primavera by Botticelli, Bacco by Caravaggio, La Madonna di Ognissanti by Giotto, and L’Annunciazione by Leonardo are just some of the eternal masterpieces stored in one of the most famous museums in the world: the Uffizi Gallery. The famous Florentine Gallery – which attracts every year a million and seven hundred thousand visitors – will be the focus of a conference (part of “Italian Museums”) scheduled Wednesday, November 26 at the Auditorium of Umberto Agnelli of the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo. Francesco Matteo Cataluccio will unveil the museum’s history, secrets and fun facts. The wonderful U-shaped building, designed by Giorgio Vasari, is made of bright corridors and irregular halls. Surely the Uffizi is a place that cannot be visited in just a few hours and the risk is always to see only a few famous paintings and miss out on the less known but beautiful and unforgettable works. The Tokyo ICI – as stated on the website – decided to focus on seven paintings (some well known and others not) that will allow the audience to get an idea of the museum. (red)
