Tirana – Entirely dedicated to Vico Magistretti, one of the founding fathers of Italian design, the exhibition “Svicolando” opens today at 6pm at the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana. The exhibition will remain open until December 29, and is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute with the collaboration of the Fondazione Studio Museo Magistretti of Milan and the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana. The exhibition tells the story of the long working relationship between Vico Magistretti and some of the most important Italian design companies, including Artemide, De Padova, Flou, Oluce and Schiffini. In addition to drafts, drawings, photographs and notes, the showcase will display iconic moments of the history of Italian design, including the Eclisse and Atoll lamps by Artemide and Oluce, included in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and awarded the Compasso d’Oro, in 1967 and 1979 respectively.
