Dec. 19 – Brilliant minds, singular talents, all in all excellence made in Italy. The Italians champions of the Informatics Olympiad, just three months after their victory, are putting their computer skills at the service of one of the most innovative labs in the world. Francesco Milizia, Gabriele Bani, Daniele Cominu, Dario Asprone and Francesco Milano – under the guidance of Professor Alessandro Bugatti – completed their two-week internship at the IBM Hursley Laboratory in the UK. Among these young promising digital experts, there are those who, like Francesco Milizia, brought Italy on the podium with a second place at the International Olympiad in Informatics 2014, which was held in Taipei, Taiwan. The training experience was funded by a grant made available by the Bank of Italy and organized in collaboration with AICA (Italian Association for Informatics and Automatic Calculation) and the Ministry of Education. This internship gave the young Italian champions the opportunity to collaborate on a project to develop a software for the management of professional skills within the company, experiencing the most modern technologies in the prestigious British laboratory.
