Reggio Emilia – Parmigiano Reggiano, the King of Cheeses, was crowned by the international foodies community, made of 700.000 people from I Love Italian Food, as the best Italian taste of 2014. The foodies were asked to choose the iconic components of Italian cuisine, from a list of local products and emblematic recipes. Online consultations took place in November: the Parmigiano Reggiano collected 20% of the overall preferences. Completing the podium, there are pasta and Parma ham, followed by extra virgin olive oil and pizza. The online survey was promoted by I Love Italian Food, a nonprofit reality founded in 2013 with the mission of defending and spreading the culture of Italian food quality. This ambitious goal has the support of an international network of over 700.000 foodies and over 5,000 professionals, including food bloggers, chefs, restaurateurs, buyers and cooking schools.
