Dec. 22 – Fincantieri will build two new cruise ships for the US group Carnival Corporation, and its Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line. The Italian company won an order to build “Carnival Vista” and “Koningsdam”. The ship for Carnival Cruise Lines, which will be the 26th in the fleet of the brand, will have a gross tonnage of 133,500, a capacity of 3,954 passengers and will become operative in spring 2018. The unit for Holland America Line, the second in the Pinnacle class, will instead have a gross tonnage of 99,500, a capacity of 2,650 passengers, and will be delivered in the fall of 2018. “Being chosen once again for an order as important as this is the best recognition of our capabilities,” said Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri. Our position “has consolidated thanks to the relationship with Carnival, a partnership that over the years allowed us to grow, and today is strengthened thanks to the agreement for the Chinese market and orders like these, to which we hope more will follow.” (Red)
