Beijing – Just for the holiday period, there will be 170 million bottles of Italian sparkling wine uncorked in the world. This is an estimate by Coldiretti, underlining the 24% increase in exported bottles revealed by ISTAT data for the first nine months of 2014. Abroad – continued Coldiretti – there are important results obtained in new markets, such as record growth in exports to China, where the Made in Italy sparkling wine consumption more than doubled (+110%) compared to last year. But the real boom in sales was recorded in the UK (+49% in quantity), which bypassed the United States (+21%) and became the first market for Italian bubbles. (9Colonne)
