(Jan. 1) The beer market in Hong Kong is in constant growth in recent years, partly as a result of the increase in the number of Western clubs in the area and the influence of Western culture and lifestyle among the younger generations. The demand for beer does not come only from people of Hong Kong but also by the many tourists and foreign workers. The interest in craft beer in Hong Kong is a concrete fact, confirmed by the great success of the events related to it. Italian artisan beer can find a thriving market but must be able to face fierce competition from many realities, historical breweries, and a better and more promotional activity should be the first condition to reach. Hong Kong offers many opportunities to learn about products through exhibitions and festivals. Companies which do not have branches in China but are present only in the territory of Hong Kong do not re-export their products in a competitive market like China, characterized among other things by complicated and expensive bureaucratic fulfillments. It would be easier and cheaper to set up an office in the territory of mainland China and export it directly into the large Asian country. (red)
