Jan. 6 – The years seem to pass for everyone, except the Ferrari. The 275 GTB Competizione, the eleventh exemplary of the twelve produced by Ferrari in 1966, will be auctioned on January 15 during the most anticipated Bonhams event in Scottsdale, Arizona. The car was built specifically for racing; and compared to the traditional 275 chassis it’s lighter with enlarged double tanks. The renovated engine is now capable of delivering over 300 horsepower. After finishing its racing career, the car was owned by several people, and was later restored in the 1980s. The work was performed according to the specifications of the original structure, to the point of obtaining a certification by the Classics Department of the Maranello company. As a collectible, the car received a prize at the prestigious Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California. The 275 GTB Competizione was recently on display in the US, among other 60 Ferrari, in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive, for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Ferrari’s presence in North America. In Scottsdale, it is expected to sell in the eight digits figures. (Red)
