Jan. 6 – The Toronto Convention Centre hosts from January 22 to January 25 the Interior Design Show, the largest Canadian event on contemporary design that annually hosts more than 300 architecture and interior design exhibitors. The 17th edition of the show, also hosts Italian designer Luca Nichetto. In addition to participating in exhibitions in the US and Japan, Nichetto – who throughout his career has received numerous awards – was the protagonist of important retrospectives in Venice, London, Paris and Stockholm. As art director, he hosted and curated numerous international events. Born in Venice in 1976, Nichetto studied at the Art Institute and later graduated in Industrial Design at the University Institute of Architecture in the same city. Nichetto kicked off his professional career in 1999 designing his first products in Murano glass for Salviati. In the same year, he began his cooperation with Foscarini, for whom, besides designing projects, he was also a consultant for new material research and product development (2001- 2003). In 2006 he founded in Porto Marghera, near Venice, the firm Nichetto & Partners, a Design Consultancy active in the field of Industrial Design. In 2011, Nichetto decided to start a business in Stockholm. Two years later, the Tales team commissioned Nichetto his first architecture project, called “Tales Pavilion,” a multi-brand showroom of 500 square meters at the Lido Garden in Beijing. He currently works with numerous companies both in Italy and abroad. (red)
