Brazzaville – Eni has started production from the Congolese offshore field of Nene Marine, located in Block Marine XII – about 17 kilometers from the coast. 8 months after obtaining a production permit and 16 months since the discovery, Eni’s production in Congo begins just a few days after the announcement of the excellent test pit results in Minsala Marine 1, also located in Block Marine XII. The Nene Marine field – claimed a statement released by the company – is located at a depth of 28 meters in the vicinity of existing plants. The field produces from the pre-saliferous formation of Djeno, 2.5 kilometers below ground level.
