Jan. 16 – From the endless expanses of ancient vineyards in the Langhe to the grapes cultivated at the foot of the Dolomites or on Mount Etna, from the viticulture terraces perched on the Ligurian coast to the sweet of the Amalfi Coast, the Italian wine landscape – recalls the Italian Farmers Confederation – is rich and varied. Wine is one of Made in Italy’s flagship products, with over 200.000 companies active in the sector, 650.000 hectares of vineyards scattered throughout the country, and a turnover of almost €10 billion a year, half of which on foreign markets. The excellence of Italian wine will be discussed on Wednesday, January 28 at 7pm at the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow (M. Kozlovsky per., 4). The event, organized by the IIC, is entitled “History of Italian regional cuisine and oenology,” and will host Anatolij Korneev, known wine expert and Italian aficionado. The conference will be devoted to regional Italian culinary traditions, typical products, and wines: in a word, what makes Made in Italy a global success.
