Jan. 23 – When Ferrari shows up at an auction, the possibility of going beyond expectations is anything but remote. This happened at the auction in Scottsdale (Arizona) organized by Gooding & Company, where 17 Ferraris were sold for revenues of $ 23.5 million. To do the lion’s share was a Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider from 1959, one of 50 examples made, which was auctioned off for the first time since 1969. The car, chassis number 1425 GT, was valued at $7,7 million. For $4.07 million a very lucky person brought home the rare 400 Superamerica Series I Aerodynamic Coupe, produced in 1962 in just seven copies, and renovated respecting the original specifications, to the point that it has been certified by the Ferrari Classiche department. The third highest quotation was reached for a 330 GTS 1968, which changed hands for $2,420,000. It is one of 99 units produced. One of 350 of the 250 GT Lusso 1963 was sold for more than $1.9 million, a milestone in the evolution of super sports cars. For $1.6 million, someone brought home the 1966 275 GTS, produced in just 200 units.
