Antarctica – On 3 February the summer expedition to Antarctica of the Italian researchers, led by Marco De Petris of La Sapienza University, will come to an end. They measured atmospheric emissions at 3,233 meters of altitude using Casper – a spectrometer that operates in the millimeter band and a telescope of 62 centimeters in diameter. Their goals was to study the universe by reducing as much as possible the atmospheric filter, which because of the water molecules in the air, limits the absorption of the celestial radiation.
