Washington – Ninety days before inauguration of the Universal Exhibition Milan 2015, the United States looks to the event that, in six months, will host more than 20 million visitors. Women for Expo, a joint Expo and MAECI project, has built a global network of women to support the event. And now, following a meticulous organization from the Aspen Institute in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Washington DC, it’s time for the international workshop “How can development be sustainable: food security, nutrition and health: the transatlantic link.” The event focuses on the theme of nutrition and environmental sustainability and the role that women, across the Atlantic, can play in the pursuit of this strategic goal. The conference will open today with the intervention by Linda Lanzillotta, vice president of the Senate, and the Italian ambassador to the United States, Carlo Bisogniero. (9Colonne)
