Madrid – Endesa was chosen by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment’s Climate Change Office (OECC) to represent the energy sector in stage two of the Adapta Initiative pilot study. The Enel Group subsidiary has been taking part in the project, which will see an extension of the country’s National Climate Change Adaptation Plan to the private sector in addition to its integration into corporate strategies, since its launch in 2013. The companies chosen to participate belong to five key sectors of the Spanish economy: energy, tourism, construction, agriculture and transport. Endesa is the only energy company to have been selected for the second phase of the Adapta Initiative, recognition that underlines the commitment of both the Spanish subsidiary and the Enel Group to promote environmental sustainability: the fight against climate change and an sound adaptation plan are key factors in corporate decision-making.
