Baku – Salerno hosts today the Business Focus: “Azerbaijan, opportunities for businesses.” Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, under the Intertrade program of activities and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy, the meeting aims to present business and collaboration opportunities offered by the country to Salerno companies. Economic relations between Italy and Azerbaijan have increasingly improved since 1992. Italian imports are almost entirely in the petroleum products category, while export of goods amounts to about €516 million, covering several traditional sectors: consumption goods, mechanical engineering goods, aerospace, textile, furniture and furnishings, chemicals and food processing. Interesting potential for Italian companies is related to equipment for the chemical and petrochemical industry, the engineering industry and metallurgical technologies to protect the environment.
