Toluca – A 34-megawatt wind farm that has 17 turbines will be built by Enel Green Power on more than 40 hectares of land in Toluca in Mexico, after the green energy business signed an agreement with General Motors to supply the automotive company’s local manufacturing operations with renewable energy. The agreement contributes to the sustainable development of one of Mexico’s largest production areas, where headquarters, complexes and factories belonging to domestic and global heavy industry businesses are located. The Toluca wind farm will help reduce the emissions produced and the environmental impact of the GM facility, and this will be the first time that the US automotive manufacturer uses wind energy to power its manufacturing operations.
