Mar. 13 – The countdown has already begun for the trip to Sweden of the “PHOS Project” students. The group from the University of Pisa was selected by the European Space Agency to test a device entirely designed and built by them on board a space probe. The PHP (Pulsating Heat Pipe) – a kind of “space heater” – will be launched into orbit on March 19 from the space base of Kiruna, and it will be tested in a reduced gravity environment. PHOS was the only Italian project chosen to participate in the Rexus / BEXUS program – Rocket and Balloon Experiments for University Students, a program sponsored by the ESA in cooperation with other agencies, involving students from all over Europe.
