Noordwijk – Yet another European success for the University of Florence. The LINV team of the International Laboratory for Plant Neurobiology was selected for the third time by the European Space Agency to take part in the “Spin Your Thesis!” initiative, which offers university students and doctoral candidates the opportunity to carry out scientific and technological research in hypergravity. This is the first time the laboratory achieves this goal in three different editions of the competition. LINV researchers will be able to use the ESA facilities in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to carry out their experimental work. The goal is to measure the electrical signals used for the transfer of information (the so called “action potential”), in conditions of altered gravity, by the Venus flytrap (a carnivorous plant capable of trapping insects).
