Mar. 19 – The Salvatore Ferragamo Group has been fighting a fierce global battle against the counterfeiting of Made in Italy. The group, thanks in part to local and international legislators who are becoming more aware of the seriousness of this problem and are updating legislation to defend the rights of those suffering the effects of piracy and fakes, is supported by lawyer Pier Luigi Roncaglia. “In 2014, we increased the number of e-commerce sites that we monitor. In China, we also expanded our offline checks, targeting trade fairs and resellers,” noted Ferruccio Ferragamo, Chairman of the Salvatore Ferragamo Group. “Always in China, the ruling against a high-end hotel whose store sold counterfeit products was upheld on appeal. We will further intensify our commitment to fighting counterfeiting in 2015, both to protect our intellectual property rights and to defend our customers. In this way, we will continue to wage this war with great determination, expanding controls both online and offline and ramping up anti-counterfeit measures, including with the customs authorities.” (Red)
