Mar. 25 – To open a business in the Australian state of Victoria, it’s now a downhill ride thanks to the Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne, where the “Guide to Australian company law” was officially presented. The document explains the first steps that a business owner can follow in Victoria. The Guide was sponsored by the Consulate General of Italy and developed by lawyer Giovanni Di Lieto. The event was attended by dozens of businessmen and representatives of the community, who were there to learn the contents of the publication. The text – dedicated to “all Italians with initiative” – wants to provide a general legal framework in which a new entrepreneur has to act. The document offers a range of practical information on the tax system, on loans, and the immigration rules for foreign entrepreneurs. A practical demonstration of how to create a company in Melbourne was provided by David Fastuca, creator of the “locomote” start-up, which develops softwares for business administrative management, and Merlatti Silvano, president of the company that markets Fila sports article in Australia. Both presented their different paths and perspectives, and explained how they achieved significant results in the world economy. Consul General Marco Maria Cerbo (pictured) explained to those present the value of the new publication, which is intended to encourage the consolidation of trade relations between Italy and the state of Victoria. In the last twelves months, interchange grew by almost 20%, showing a particularly favorable environment. By supporting the publication of the Guide, the Consulate sought to give a concrete answer to the needs of the many operators that express an interest in the Australian market. (Red)
