New York – February was a month of record exports for Made in Italy to the United States, where they increased by 48.5% under the favorable exchange rate euro / dollar. Coldiretti analyzed the Istat data on foreign trade for February 2015 and compared it to last year’s performance. The result is that, worldwide, exports grew by 2.5%. “The favorable exchange rate is therefore an opportunity – comments Coldiretti – to support Italy’s economic recovery given the current phase of domestic consumption stagnation. For the first time, 2014 saw Italian agri-food exports in the US exceed €3 billion; and Italian wine is the most appreciated product by Americans, for a value of €1.1 billion.” (9colonne)
