Budapest – Pordenone hosted yesterday a meeting betwee the vice president of the Autonomous Province of Trento and the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, to examine new cooperation approaches in the field of local economic development. During the meeting, the two discussed the Observatory on the Balkans and the Caucasus, a reality of excellence based in Rovereto, which has been active for fifteen years and is recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Autonomous Province of Trento is interested in expanding the range of action and partnership of the Observatory, which carries out monitoring, research and information activities in the Balkans, Eastern European countries and the former USSR. To this regard, President Serracchiani suggested the development of a partnership with the European Central Initiative, a regional organization founded in Budapest in 1989 that brings together all Central European Ambassadors, and might be interested in the skills developed by the Observatory.
