Apr. 23 – Trentino and Friuli Venezia Giulia are ready to strengthen the role of the Balkans and the Caucasus Observatory, a reality of excellence based in Rovereto that has been active for fifteen years, recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The vice president of the Autonomous Province of Trento Alessandro Olivi and the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, met to discuss about it yesterday. The Autonomous Province of Trento is interested in expanding the range and the depth of the partnerships held by the Observatory, which carries out monitoring, research and information activities in the Balkans, Eastern European countries and the former USSR. President Serracchiani suggested to this regard the development of a partnership with the Central European Initiative, a regional organization founded in Budapest in 1989 that brings together all Central European ambassadors, which might be interested in the skills developed within the Observatory. Soon, a technical meeting will bring together Trentino Sviluppo and Informatica Trentina, as well as their counterparts from Friuli Venezia Giulia, to develop a mutual understanding and synergies.
