Tehran – A Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation on environmental issues was signed in Tehran, at the instigation of the Minister of Environment Gian Luca Galletti and in the presence of Ambassador Mauro Conciatori. The agreement brings together ISPRA and the Intergovernmental Institute of Environmental Science and Technology ECO-IEST, which is based in the Iranian capital, and includes ten states in the Persian Gulf-Caspian-Caucasus region. “This agreement – explains Galletti – is of great importance for two reasons: it reinforces Italy’s role in the environmental field, putting our scientific excellence to the service of states that value the environment; and it brings together these countries in light of the binding global agreement on combating climate change that will be negotiated upon in Paris later this year.”(9Colonne)
