Beijing – Beijing hosted the first meeting of the Consultative Committee for the EU Project “Social Protection Reform Project SPRP,” with which the activities promoted by the European Union kicked off. The goal is to provide the Chinese governmental authorities with specialist support to draft the System Reform of Social Protection. Italy’s INPS has been given the role of Project Leader in the initiative. The project, which runs for four years, began in September 2013, when INPS, within an international consortium, submitted the project to the European Union Delegation to China and Mongolia. In March 2014, the technical and financial project proposal was submitted to the EU Delegation, which was finally approved in October. The international consortium includes members from seven different EU countries (Italy, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Spain, France and Czech Republic), selected from major public institutions active in the field of social security.
