June 9 – For two days, Place Frenay in Paris will host a corner of sustainable Italy. Adjacent to Gare de Lyon, historically linked to the arrivals and departures of Italians, the square will be transformed into a space dedicated to Italy and its social cooperatives, buying groups and tourism operators that combine man and nature, like the Tuscan-Emilian National Park, candidate as a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Site, or Naturaliter, a “trekking and Mediterranean hospitality” cooperative in the South of Italy. This is one way for the Parisian public to discover typical products and lesser known fruit of sustainable strategies. The event, “Sustainable Italy – Expo du Tourisme durable en Italie,” was organized by Italia in Rete and Italia ETC for June 13-14. During the two days, there will also be plenty of activities for all ages: cartoons, art, live music, literature, workshops and Showfood. “Sustainable Italy” was organized with the support of the Mairie of the 12th arrondissement of Paris, the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities and Tourism, the Consulate General of Italy in Paris, the ITA, Expo 2015, SNCF and the French Pavilion, Slow Food and Fai France, the Piedmont Region and the Council for Emilia-Romagna in the world; and it also received the “brand” of the City of Milan.
