June 10 – The works by painter Eugenio Carmi (exponent of the Italian abstractionist movement), those of Gianni Dova (supporter of Spatialism) and those of Marco Lodola, sculptor of the light, will be on display from tomorrow (the inauguration is at 7pm) in Buenos Aires. The Sala Roma of the Italian Institute of Culture hosts the exhibit until Tuesday, June 30. The exhibition “Italian graphics of the twentieth century” welcomes a prestigious collection of graphic works by contemporary Italian artists, kindly lent by the Sartirana Foundation of Pavia. The event is sponsored by the IIC in collaboration with the Foundation Sartirana Arte of Pavia and the Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. The show is based on three elements: Eugenio Carmi’s lyrical and geometric abstraction (1920), Gianni Dova’s informal surrealism (1925-1991) and the “sporty” figurative movement set up by Marco Lodola. The works of the three artists will feature next to those of other great masters who explored the land of graphics, using various techniques, including lithography and serigraphy. (Red)
